This year we learned about simple machines which use leverage or mechanical advantage to increase force. Simple machines such as wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, screw, and wedge are some of the common simple machines we use daily. The challenge the class was given was to create their own theme parks with rides that use some of these simple machines. Today’s theme park presentation blew us away! Roller coasters, water slides, loop-de-loops, and slingshot rides all demonstrated different simple machines used in our lives!
After completing our final STEM unit for this year, Mrs. Serraf put the 6th & 7th grades’ knowledge and creativity to the test.
